Dmax vs 6.0!!!!!

Went camping this weekend with the Girlfriends family. I have a 2002 GMC 2500 4x4 Dmax. Her parents run a 2004 F-350 6.0 King Ranch. ( Nice Truck.) Were both pulling about the same size travel trailor. We get on the topic of trucks, and they begin to tell me they like Dodges and Chevys, but if you wanna go up the hill with ease and get up to speed, the Ford is the King!! The Dodge is good, but the Chevy just wont pull the load very well they tell me. .No one has ever passed them up the hill they say. Well, on the way home we hit the hill, I pull in the lane next to em and look over and my girlfriends dad gives me the "Lets DO IT". I hear his turbo spill up and a cloud of smoke blows out, I floor it.........I was really impressed with the Ford, But the DURAMAX was even more impressive and pulled away from the 6.0. If we hadnt hit traffic, I'd a pulled two truck lengths on em!!! When we finally met up, they we're laughing and said," That thing moves after all!!" :HappyMugs

I love this engine!!!!

Well Mike, maybe their trucks are different. Not everybody's normal operating temp is 2,500º, like yours. (inside joke)

We were in high elevation at about 8,000 feet. Trucks always seem to smoke up there. His truck is stock and mine has a 30 hp chip. That puts us at about the same hp since mine has 300 stock, but not sure what it adds torque wise. Maybe Im putting out more torque? Not sure.

cool.. those are the REAL tests.. when 2 diesels are going at it .. with trailors on the back.. just like that D max VS that old 12v cummins.. (pullin a travel trailor and a jeep) and that 40K d max was not keeping up .. money isnt EVERYTHING..

Funny thing is pulling a hill or pass with my D-Max and 25K LBS behind it on my 33' flatbed and running in the right lane passing empty PSD's and CTD's .
